club_options_activities : We launch all sizes of rockets from mini models to scale replicas. Low, mid, and high power. Every year we have Chili Blaster, a two day launch with camping on site. This coincides with Pueblo's Chile and Frijoles Festival in September. Throughout the year we have special events: January: Big Bertha Launch to honor Vern Estes' Birthday; March: Good Luck Glider Fest; June: Der Red Max Rockets; July: United Launch Alliance (ULA) visits for an Intern lead launch; September: Chili Blaster; October: Odd Rocket Launch. We host a variety of groups from across Colorado: 4H, Boy Scouts of America, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, as well as clubs and science classes from middle schools, high schools and colleges. club_options_hpr : Our waiver as of January 1st, 2023 is 12,000 Ft. AGL. If you plan on flying above 5,000 ft AGL, dual deploy is required. If you are wanting to fly any motor larger than an 'M' you must reach out to the club at least one week in advance to make arrangements for the pad to be set up. Wanting to get a JrL1, L1, or L2? We have people that can help you work toward that goal!
club_options_launches : We launch year round, first and third Saturdays every month, weather permitting. Low power can fly as soon as we are set up. The high power waiver opens at 8:00 am however launch start time can vary based on weather, please follow us on Facebook and our website for up to date info. We stay out till the wind chases us away, we run out of motors or 4 PM, whichever happens first. We fly at Stealey Memoral Launch Site at Hudson Ranch. Turn-off to site: 38° 8' 58.89"N (38.149692) 104° 48' 2.71"W (-104.800753) Large Scale Nike Asp marks the entry. Follow the gravel road passed the 4Bar Church and the red barn to the closed cattle gate. Once you come through the gate: PLEASE CLOSE THE GATE BEHIND YOU!
